The cost is the same, but taking more steps than other players increases the odds that you'll mint a more rare Gen-0 Mebot.

Yes. Owning land isn't necessary, but acquring a plot of land in Land42 allows you to compete with other players in future competitions and allows you to create new Gen-1 Mebots through breeding. Only 9,999 Gen-0 Mebots will ever exist.

Gen-0 Mebots are the genesis Mebots. There will never be more Gen-0 Mebots. They will enjoy special gaming priviledges in Land42.
